Senior Staff Selection Process
Stage One - Online Application
Submit an online application here
Stage Two – Senior Video Interview
We will be holding senior video interviews through Microsoft Teams. You will receive an invitation for this with all the relevant information for the interview.
If you are successful, you will be issued a contract and will need to book onto a compulsory Senior Training Day (which is explained in further detail through stage 5).
Stage Three - Background Checks
Successful applicants will be offered employment subject to obtaining an Enhanced DBS check through Barracudas. We can accept DBS checks issued through an external company as long as they are registered with the Update Service. New staff will also need to provide two satisfactory professional references (or academic if no professional referees are available). All returning staff will need to provide one up to date reference each year as part of our safer recruitment policy and OFSTED registration.
Stage Four - Online Training
Our Online Training programme is tailored to your role and will allow you to learn about our Barracudas policies and procedures ahead of your Induction Training day at camp. All staff must complete the Online Training; you will be emailed a few weeks before the start of the season to allow you time to complete it. It is advised that senior staff complete their Online Training ahead of attending the Senior Training Day.
Stage Five - Senior Training
For all new senior staff members it is compulsory to attend one day of initial senior training that covers our standard procedures ahead of your first season in a senior position. Once you have worked a full season all returning seniors must attend annual compulsory training for reviews, updates, and site-specific information.
If you are new to Barracudas or taking on a new role such as moving into a higher senior position or stepping up from a general activity staff member to a senior position - this day is compulsory for you to attend pre-Easter if you're contracted to work the Easter holiday, as well as one of the summer dates if you’re contracted to work in the summer too. If you are a returning staff member, returning to the same role you will need to attend Senior Training ahead of the summer season only.
Easter Senior Training
Easter Senior Training will be held in one location, and is for all new staff to attend, also if you are new to Barracudas or taking on a new role such as moving from a Senior Sports Instructor to a Camp Manager or stepping up from a general activity staff member to a senior position you will need to attend.
Easter Senior Training Dates:
• Saturday 21st March 2026

For returning senior staff, there will be an online session. Dates and times TBC.
Summer Senior Training
Summer Senior Training is compulsory for all senior staff to attend. We will be holding 3 days at different locations. If you are new to Barracudas or taking on a new role or if you are a returning senior you must attend the full day.
Please make sure when you are booking onto your Senior Training Day you are booking onto the relevant day.

Stage Six - Set Up Days and Induction Training
These dates will be circulated to you via email once they have been confirmed.
It is important that you attend both Set Up and Induction Training days, as you will be delivering the Induction Training on camp. We will assume that you will be in attendance for these, unless told otherwise.
All Set Up and Induction Training days are additional, paid days but they are also a great way of meeting and getting to know your camp team as well as familiarising yourself with the site.
